So, you're sitting around, looking at all the beautiful girls or handsome guys, whatever the case may be, walking around you. You want to hook up with this one particular person in particular, but, are they too young for you? Or, conversely, are they too old for you?
Well, now you do not have to worry whether someone is too old or too young for you, let MATH be your guide to the dating world!
But, Graham, how is math supposed to help me? It's just numbers and symbols, right?
The answer to that is a resounding, "No!" my friends, though all we will be using to figure out your dating range are numbers and symbols. How do we do this? With a little mathematical formula, that is not actually of my own doing. I actually discovered that it is known beyond my own little group of friends. It has at least travelled to the T.O., the centre of the known universe.
Anyways, anyone can work out this formula out, since, for the lower limit it is simple division, rounding and addition, and for the upper limit, it is just subtraction and multiplication. Similar to the rule of three as presented in American Pie 2, I have affectionatly named this, the rule of seven.
With this formula to help you, you can never again be ridiculed for dating someone who is older or younger than you, as long as you stay within your range. The Rule of Seven 1. The Lower Limit:
Take one-half your age, rounded up, and add seven.
ex1; If you are 20, then half your age is 10, and you add seven, making 17. Therefore, your lower limit for dating is seventeen.
ex2; If you are 23, then half your age is 11.5, rounded up is 12, so adding seven gives you 19, your lower limit for dating.
2. The Upper Limit:
Subtract seven from your age, and then double it.ex3; If you are 20, then subtracting seven gives you 13, and doubleing it gives you 26. Therefore, your upper limit for dating is twenty-six
Exceptions:
Exception 1: If you see a girl or a guy who, on a scale from 1 to 11, is a 27, but is one year outside your dating range, you may extend your range just for that person. This is called, "The Rule of One". In general, you should have at least one of your friends agree that the person in question is eligible for such an exception to the rules.
ex4; If your lower limit is 17, and you see someone who you think is eligible for an exemption from the rules, and your friend agrees, then, the exception is made on the spot, and applies only to the person in question. If however, your friend disagrees, then no exception is made, and you better keep looking for someone else.
Exception 2: If you see a girl or a guy who is really unattractive to you somehow, or, the only aged people you would go out with is a subset of your dating range, you may change your dating range however you like, within the restraints of the above criteria.
ex5; If your lower limit is 17 and your upper limit is 26, you may choose to create for yourself a new range, with your lower limit no lower than 17, and no higher than 26 (i.e.; 20 to 23).
